This is a 2000 reproduction of the very popular Vintage Barbie Sophisticated Lady #993 (1963-1964) and a Vintage Blonde Bubblecut Barbie Doll.

It is the first Bubblecut repro to have pink lips and nails.

It can be harder to find than some of the other vintage reproductions. It was a Collector's Request Edition, which was made in smaller numbers than some of the other ones. It has all of the original accessories, including the tiara and pink pearl necklace and earrings.

Issuing a reproduction of Barbie Sophisticated Lady was exciting for adult collectors and the perfect way to engage a younger generation of fans. Capturing the regal essence of this ensemble, Mattel issued a limited edition Vintage Barbie Sophisticated Lady Reproduction in 2000. This reproduction was number three in the Collector's Request Collection.
